 The
Sorrentine Peninsula represents the ideal place for people loving
good food. The local gastronomy smells and tastes, have reached
international fame creating the mythe of the Mediterreanean diet.
Sea food cuisine together with the many resources this land produces:
the typical oval Sorrentine lemons( from which the world famous
limoncello is produced), olive oil, mozzarella, the great Campany
wines, pasta from Gragnano, tomatoes, pizza.... |

the local Sorrentine cuisine. Let's start from Marina Grande, the
old fishermen village, where in the last few years many restaraunts
have been started, offering typical traditional dishes. We suggest
you Di leva Restaurant, in the heart of the village, where 50 years
ago Sofia Loren made a movie with Vittorio de Sica " Pane, amore e
..." The Di Leva sisters offer traditional dishes, coming form old
grandmothers' recipes: sea food salad with home made tuna, spaghetti
with anchovies, mixed fish fries. |

Going up to the centre of Sorrento we find the
best restaurant " IL BUCO" near the theatre Tasso. The owner's
hospitality and kindness represent an additional value to the
cuisine the restaurant offers. In the main square " Piazza Tasso "
you can try Pizza at the restaurant " AURORA", the genuine
ingredients, the old family tradition guarantee and excellent result.
